Director:
Ross Eberman
Ross Eberman is the owner and president of Carpe Diem Books. He is responsible
for the sales and marketing, and for orchestrating projects from concept
through editorial development, design, and production to delivery of
finished books.
Ross has a proven 30-year book management and marketing/sales background
and established ties with national publishers. His previous positions
include Book Buyer for Waldenbooks, Special Sales Manager at Little
Brown (publisher), Director of Corporate Sales at Graphic Arts Center
Publishing, and Director of Sales & Custom Publishing at Tehabi
Books (book packager).
Project Manager/Editorial: Kirsten Leonard
Kirsten
Leonard brings a twenty-year background in project management,
derived from her involvement in non-profit organizations. She
is the co-founder of a structured, stringent book club, which
has met monthly for ten years to read and review books. Leonard
works with Carpe Diem Books to read, evaluate, and manage book projects.
She edited America’s Wildlife
Refuges and Queen Mary 2 for our company. Kirsten
also consults with authors in an editorial capacity.
Editorial:
Tim Frew
Tim Frew provides strong editorial skills and tremendous experience
in book development. He has a broad publishing background, having
worked for Doubleday Book Clubs, Meredith Corporation (Better Homes & Gardens),
Simon & Schuster, and Warner Books. One of his more notable accomplishments
was being the Managing Editor for Doubleday's best-selling book, ABC
News, The Century by Peter Jennings and Todd Brewster. Tim is
currently Executive Editor at Graphic Arts Center Publishing Company.
He is the author of fourteen books.
Design:
Reynolds/Wulf (primary)
Carpe Diem Books uses the finest book designers, individually
selected and suited for each particular project. The primary design
team for Carpe Diem Books is Reynolds/Wulf.
Robert Reynolds and Letha Wulf have collaborated in the graphic design
industry for twenty years. Their partnership is successful for common
design principles as well as contrasting views. Reynolds' photographic
background — which includes architectural, industrial, people,
and portrait work — provides structure to many of their design
projects. Reynolds/Wulf specialize in book design, annual reports,
collegiate viewbooks, art gallery exhibition publications, and corporate
commemorative books. Their work has received numerous
national design, print, and photography awards.
Production:
Dick Owsiany
Dick Owsiany has worked in all aspects of the printing and binding industry
for over twenty years. For the past twelve years he has served as Director
of Manufacturing at Graphic Arts Center Publishing Company. His knowledge,
skills, and experience in managing large corporate and trade book projects,
as well as his ability to produce multimedia presentations, makes him
a most valuable asset.
